Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in the past year Russia has made important steps towards gaining full sovereignty and powerful consolidation of society. He announced such a move during a New Year’s address to citizens, Interfax reports.
The Head of State called 2022 the year of “truly pivotal, fateful events”, as well as “difficult, necessary decisions”. According to him, all of the above has become a frontier, laying the foundation for the future.
“It was a year that put a lot in place, clearly separated courage and heroism from betrayal and cowardice, showed that there is no higher power than love for your family and friends, loyalty to friends and comrades, devotion to your fatherland,” Putin concluded.
In addition, in his New Year’s address, the Russian leader said that Western countries had declared a real sanctions war on Russia, but could not achieve their goal.
